Savannah’s MUMC Wins Consumer Choice Award
Savannah, GA, October 02, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC) won the National Research Corporation (NRC) 2008/2009 Consumer Choice Award for the Savannah region. The NRC Consumer Choice Award surveys households in 250 markets throughout the U.S. to identify the top hospitals. The list is published in Modern Healthcare magazine. The NRC has been presenting the Consumer Choice Award for 13 years.
For households surveyed in the Savannah market, MUMC ranked at the top in four categories: best overall quality, best image and reputation, best doctors, and best nurses.
“It’s great to be recognized by the people we serve. We strive to provide the highest level of service each and every day -- that’s what the people in this community deserve. At MUMC, we take service excellence very seriously. This recognition shows that we are on the right track,” said Ramon Meguiar, M.D., senior vice president and chief medical officer at MUMC.
Consumer Choice Award winners are determined by consumer perceptions on multiple quality and image ratings collected in the company’s annual NRC Healthcare Market Guide® study. The 2008/09 Healthcare Market Guide is the largest and most comprehensive study of its kind in the U.S. The 2008/09 NRC Healthcare Market Guide study surveyed more than 200,000 households representing 400,000 consumers in the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia.
