Cala Ossidiana Introduces a High End, Contemporary Swimear Collection Inspired by the Volcanic Beaches of Lipari
New York, NY, October 08, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Cala Ossidiana, a new luxury swimwear and resort wear company, has launched a 2009 swimwear collection emphasizing contemporary designs using beautiful fabrics in deep intense colors. Conceived by Creative Director, Anne Pachan, Cala Ossidiana swimwear combines flattering silhouettes with fashionable edgy cuts. The new collection aims to flatter a woman’s natural shape while allowing for the expression of individuality.
The entire Cala Ossidiana swimwear collection, which includes bikinis and one pieces, has a European feel with cuts that are meant to flatter many body types. Overlapping layers and play on sheer and opaque are translated into modern color combinations and fabrics. All of the swimwear is manufactured in New York and Miami using the highest quality Italian fabrics. The collection ranges from $235 to $295 at retail.
By perfectly placing sheer panels in the bandeau style bikini, Pachan creates a look that is sexy but still comfortable and easy to wear. The knot-back maillot covers in all the right places, but uses playful knots in the straps between the should blades and lower back to create a daring look which can be adjusted for the individual. Special touches have not been overlooked - large clasps on the back of one design has the look of a climbing carabiner or a clasp on a fine piece of jewelry.
The name Cala Ossidiana and the deep sea colors chosen in the 2009 collection pay homage to the beaches in Southern Italy on the Aeolian island of Lipari – the ancestral home of her mother’s family.
Pachan’s inspiration for the collection came from her poolside experiences as a teen. “ I remember the young Italian girls on the diving team who would layer two or three swimsuits. The sophisticated nonchalance left an impression, and was the concept for my new line.” Turning that memory into a reality can be seen directly in her designs.
