Woosnam and Russell to Represent Forgan of St. Andrews at Lake Garda
Forgan’s Ian Woosnam and David J Russell have both confirmed attendance in the penultimate tournament of the European Seniors Tour 2008 season – to be staged at the Palazzo Arzaga Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort in Italy.
Birmingham, United Kingdom, October 09, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Woosnam is currently leading the Order of Merit by €12,788 ahead of rivals Bernhard Langer and third place Gordon J Brand – potentially sealing his maiden John Jacobs Trophy with one tournament remaining.
Woosie will be heading into the penultimate tournament of his debut season in the European Seniors Tour following consecutive victories at the Parkridge Polish Seniors Championship and Russian Seniors Open; with two runner-up finishes at The Ryder Cup Wales Seniors Open and the Casa Serena Open staged for the first time in the Czech Republic.
The former winning Ryder Cup captain has also confirmed his intention of captaining the European Ryder Cup team in 2010 at Celtic Manor, Wales – his home country. Woosie previously lead Europe to an emphatic victory over America at the K Club in 2006.
