The Commonwealth Youth Games Pune 2008 is just 3 days away. A website is an integral part of the CYG management system as different aspects like accreditation, hotel reservations, volunteer registrations and management, online tendering, etc. is managed through the website.
Pune, India, October 12, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Commonwealth Youth Games Pune 2008 is just 3 days away. However, the preparations for this global mega sporting event started more than 2 years ago. The CYG website has been active for over a year now and has been doing many activities to promote the Games as well as to help people register to be a part of the Games as volunteers or spectators.
A website is an integral part of the CYG management system as different aspects like accreditation, hotel reservations, volunteer registrations and management, online tendering, etc. is managed through the website. It also makes it easy for people to reach out to the Games straight from their desks. As the Web technology partners for CYG Pune 2008, Dimakh Consultants has helped CYG develop this web portal where many CYG activities have taken place in the past one year.
“Our main aim was to develop the website as a strong tool of communication for everyone associated with the Games and be the face of CYG for the international community who has been closely monitoring all the updates through the website” says Dimakh Sahasrabudhe, Director, Dimakh Consultants.
CYG Pune 2008’s School Programme “Bond Forever” with 71 member schools in Pune has helped enhance the popularity of this website. In this section hundreds of posters, paintings, letters and other art work done by students have been displayed. This also has a special section for the youngsters to listen to the ‘Jigrr’ song online, download wall papers and also play online Games.
There is a complete online Volunteer portal for registrations which reduced tremendous paper work and kept the initiative environmental friendly and tech savvy. This platform is an effective way of communicating with around 5000 CYG volunteers. Accreditation of volunteers, media, contractors and others associated with CYG is also done online which helps save a lot of paper.
“With more than lakh visitors accessing the website every month across the globe, it is very important for us to showcase the power of technology that we are using at the Games”. Says Rohit Srivastwa, Director Technology, CYG
CYG Pune 2008’s Youth Baton Relay is also being supported by state of the art technology. Location of the Youth Baton Relay can be tracked live through this website via GPS technology. Every day Youth Baton Relay updates are published directly by the team on to the website along with the pictures and videos for thousands of people to view.
Keeping in mind heavy foreign traffic because of the Games, this website also facilitates hotel bookings for people coming from different destinations. Visitors can get information on Pune’s history and traditions, places to visit and site maps. All in all it is a user friendly and technologically well equipped website to get all first hand information on Commonwealth Youth Games Pune 2008.
