Just 30 Days Left: Songdoor 2008 International Songwriting Competition Ends November 15; Joe Beck Offers Free Download
Nashville, TN, October 14, 2008 --(PR.com)-- SongDoor 2008 entries must either be postmarked by November 15, 2008 or submitted online by midnight CST, November 15, 2008. All entrants receive a free self-paced online songwriting course at SongU.com, plus a free personal evaluation of each song.
"The song evaluation alone is worth three times the entry fee, plus all writers who enter received a free online songwriting course from SongU.com, worth another $40. It's a great value, a great way to learn and and you just never know what might come of it," says SongDoor president Tony Zotta. Last year's Grand Award winner, Erinn Sherlock ("Return To You"), currently has a song on hold for Kelly Clarkson of American Idol fame.
SongDoor 2008 is presented in association with SongU.com, Jay’s Place, Masterwriter, Spring Hill Studio Productions, Broadjam and Digital Rodeo. The prize purse is valued at more than $25,000. Complete entry information is available at http://www.songdoor.com. The entry fee is still only $10.
Entrants are eligible to win the Grand Award, valued at approximately USD $5,200 in music merchandise and services, including a full-band, private-session demo at Jay’s Place, a Music Row institution that has recorded the likes of Garth Brooks, Gretchen Wilson, Lonestar, Chet Atkins and many, many more. Other awards include a one-year Platinum Membership fo SongU.com, MasterWriter software, Bose headphones and lots more. Seven Category Winners each receive a valuable package of awards worth more than $2,300, including a production demo done by Neil Ebanks at Spring Hill Studio Productions.
Judges include seasoned music industry producers, artists and engineers who have worked with/for such artists as Britney Spears, Neil Young, *NSYNC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hot Apple Pie, Little Texas, The Allman Brothers, Jimmy Buffett, Philip Bailey of Earth, Wind & Fire, Tony Bennett, Kenny Rogers, The Charlie Daniels Band and many others.
