St. Andrews Announces New Opportunities for Adult Learners

Laurinburg, NC, October 15, 2008 --(PR.com)-- St. Andrews Presbyterian College today announced the formation of the St. Andrews Center for Adult and Professional Studies.

This new initiative combines opportunities for online, main campus, weekend, and evening courses, as well as courses available through St. Andrews @ Sandhills and makes them easily accessible to working adults who desire to pursue a degree.

The program is led by Associate Dean of Adult and Extended Programs Dr. William McConnell.

In announcing the new center, President Paul Baldasare, Jr. said: “By organizing the Center for Adult and Professional Studies, St. Andrews recognizes and celebrates the needs of working adults who must balance work, family and personal responsibilities while still pursuing their educational goals. We welcome the energy and experience that these students bring to our community and look forward to making their dreams a reality.”

Immediately available to be pursued through the Center for Adult and Professional Studies are Bachelor of Arts degrees in Business Administration (Administration, Equine Business Management, or Management and Information Technology), Education (Elementary), and Liberal Studies.

Additional courses are available for individuals holding baccalaureate degrees who wish to pursue Teacher Licensure. Other degree offerings are being designed and will be announced soon.

Courses available through the Center for Adult and Professional Studies will be offered on St. Andrews’ Main Campus in Laurinburg, its St. Andrews @ Sandhills campus in Pinehurst, and through St. Andrews ONLINE. Students enrolled through the center have the flexibility to choose courses offered through any or all of those options.

Spring semester courses begin in early January and enrollment will begin soon.
