The Inquisitr and ReadBurner Announce Partnership to Highlight the Web’s Best Content
Melbourne, Australia, October 14, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Popular tech and pop culture blog The Inquisitr (inquisitr.com) has announced a new partnership with meme tracking service ReadBurner (readburner.com) that will see data sharing between the new sites.
Founded in 2007, ReadBurner aggregates popular stories based on social sharing, delivering a popular meme list based on shared posts from Google Reader, Netvibes and similar services. To date, that data was limited to users visiting ReadBurner directly, or subscribing to a RSS feed.
The new deal with The Inquisitr sees popular stories from ReadBurner, complete with links to source sites, featured on the front page of The Inquisitr next to original content from The Inquisitr itself.
The partnership includes utilization of ReadBurner tools including the ReadBurner Platform, and future products, including creation of new data streams appropriate to The Inquisitr’s audience.
Editor of The Inquisitr Duncan Riley welcomed the opportunity to work with ReadBurner. “We’re privileged to have access to a great team and product at ReadBurner” said Riley. “This is a space ripe with opportunities that has been poorly severed through a combination of second rate products, and personal politics. ReadBurner offers a product that is best in their class, and we’re happy to work with ReadBurner in giving our readers something extra, and in driving awareness of ReadBurner to more people.”
For ReadBurner, the partnership marks a significant evolution in the company’s strategy according to CEO Adam Ostrow. “We were founded on the premise that tracking the explicit sharing of information within social networks is the best way to determine the most intriguing content on the Web,” he said. “Today, we’re excited to announce that this data can now be leveraged by other Web publishers who want to provide their audience with compelling content that is catered specifically to their audience.”
With The Inquisitr as its pilot partner, ReadBurner is announcing the private beta launch of the ReadBurner Platform, a set of APIs that allows developers and publishers to utilize ReadBurner sharing data in their applications. Using the ReadBurner Platform, developers can tap into a database that features the most shared content across the Web in thousands of different categories from thousands of different sources. “Featuring a unique mix of content that includes tech, celebrity, and offbeat news, The Inquisitr is the perfect partner to demonstrate the capabilities of the ReadBurner Platform,” Ostrow added. “We’re excited to see how readers interact with the ReadBurner product on The Inquisitr and look forward to offering the same capabilities to other publishers in the future.” For more information on the ReadBurner Platform, developers are encouraged to contact: info@readburner.com.
