HG Honors Soldiers by Partnering with the Fallen Heroes Project
Orlando, FL, October 17, 2008 --(PR.com)-- HG Art and Framing Consultants is partnering with Michael Reagan of the Fallen Heroes Project to honor soldiers who have given their lives in the war against terrorism. For those that have a family member killed as a soldier in the War Against Terrorism, photos and memories is all they have left. Using the family’s favorite photo, Reagan creates professional custom hand-drawn portraits free of charge to the families of all servicemen and women who have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan in America’s War Against Terrorism. Reagan’s project has resulted in over 1200 portraits to date.
When HG’s president Russell A. Glotfelty saw Michael Reagan’s story on the news, he knew he had to get involved in any way he could. He found contact information for the project and contacted Reagan suggesting HG partner with Reagan by custom framing each portrait free of charge. Reagan happily accepted the offer, replying “At the beginning of this project, 1200 portraits ago when my wife asked how we would pay for this and I just turned that over to God, it was people like you that he sent me.”
Glotfelty and Reagan’s partnership will result in Reagan’s drawings being presented to the families in a custom matted frame. Reagan comments “we are doing this all for free and sadly a lot of the families receiving my portraits just don't have the money to get them framed.” Glotfelty feels that it’s a small part of what Reagan is already doing. “He has dedicated his time and resources to comforting the families of these brave soldiers, the least we can do is to help him provide a beautifully finished memoriam.”
As a Vietnam War veteran, Michael Reagan understands and empathizes with the extreme challenges faced by servicemen and women, as well as the ultimate sacrifice their families make. He started the Fallen Heroes project after receiving a request for a custom commission from the wife of a soldier killed in Iraq. He makes it clear that all requests for drawings of soldiers killed in the War Against Terrorism will be honored. The requests can be made by a spouse, a parent, immediate family member or friend of the family.
