620 The Bull - WDNC Brings “Imus In the Morning” Back to Triangle
850 The Buzz and 620 The Bull Bid Farewell to ESPN Radio.
Raleigh, NC, October 17, 2008 --(PR.com)-- McClatchey Broadcasting announced today that it has signed an exclusive agreement to bring the “Imus In The Morning” show back to the Raleigh-Durham market. The show will air weekday mornings from 6-10 a.m. on 620 The Bull - WDNC within the next 90 days.
“Imus In The Morning” previously aired on McClatchey Broadcasting’s 850 The Buzz -WRBZ for more than eleven years. It became one of Raleigh-Durham’s longest running morning radio programs and one of the market’s highest rated morning shows with the target demographic of men aged 25-54.
“We are thrilled to bring Imus back to the Triangle airwaves,” said McClatchey Broadcasting President Billy McClatchey. “Imus has one of the most intelligent talk shows in radio and is a great compliment to our existing line-up on 620 The Bull, as well as our local shows on 850 The Buzz.”
The addition of “Imus In The Morning” will also bring to an end the radio station’s current affiliation with ESPN Radio.
“There was no way to bring Imus back to the Triangle, continue to produce all of our locally based shows and maintain our relationship with ESPN Radio,” said McClatchey. “We felt that a continued focus on local programming based around topics relevant to the Triangle market would better satisfy the needs of our listeners.”
