Infor Delivers New ERP LX Features for IBM System i Users
Feature Pack 3 Update Helps Process and Mixed Mode Manufacturers Improve Global Operations, Enhance Compliance and Reduce Costs.
Atlanta, GA, October 17, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Infor today announced the latest release of Infor ERP LX, an advanced enterprise resource planning solution for process and mixed mode manufacturers. Enhancements to ERP LX Feature Pack 3 help modernize regulatory compliance processes, improve usability, and include new functionality that enables these manufacturers to more effectively compete in the global marketplace.
New globalization capabilities include support for multiple languages in a single instance database, which allows users from around the world to enter localized data into a centralized database and use the data in documents written in other languages. This new capability allows Infor ERP LX customers to consolidate multiple, language-specific instances of Infor ERP LX into a single installation, significantly reducing IT administration expenses.
Infor ERP LX Feature Pack 3 also features several compliance enhancements for companies subject to reporting Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) data to regulatory bodies, such as the US Food & Drug Administration and the European Food Safety Authority. These include expanded electronic signature support for GMP programs such as inventory transfer, receipt of inventory and shop order allocations. Additional compliance-related enhancements include support for writing electronic records to external media and the ability to print audit trails.
“Manufacturers around the world rely on Infor ERP LX to improve planning and customer service, control costs, enhance overall productivity, and streamline complex manufacturing processes,” said Kari Miller, senior director, product management, Infor. “Infor ERP LX Feature Pack 3 is fully compatible with IBM i 6.1 and delivers exceptional value to our large community of IBM System i-based customers.”
Infor ERP LX is service oriented architecture-enabled through Infor Open SOA, providing for the seamless integration of complementary applications, such as Warehouse Management and Enterprise Asset Management.
Other usability enhancements in Feature Pack 3 include changes to the way users can retrieve and filter data, as well as updated order to cash and Electronic Commerce Manager (ECM) processes, which make it easier for ERP LX users to access and customize data while better serving customers. Feature Pack 3 also provides a new user inquiry function, which quickly presents a consolidated snapshot of important data such as customers, vendors, items, and charts of accounts.
Infor ERP LX customer Shaklee, a leading provider of premium quality, natural nutrition, and personal care products, environmentally-friendly household products, and state-of-the-art air and water treatment systems, looks forward to deploying the new globalization and inquiry tools in its organization.
“We feel very comfortable with the future of our investment in the Infor ERP LX platform as well as our partnership with Infor,” said Ken Harris, senior vice president and CIO for Shaklee. “Infor has listened to many of our development requests and has incorporated them in this latest feature pack release, including the new multi-language features. We also look forward to applying the new enhancements that will help our users get more personalized data and quickly turn it into actionable information.”
