James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, Grateful Dead, Music Festivals, Boxing-style Cardboard and Psychedelic concert posters and handbills will be featured in the Oct. 26 Phil Weiss auction of Pop Culture, Rock & Roll Memorabilia and Hollywood Artifacts, many discovered and brought to market by Gary Sohmers of Wex Rex Collectibles.
Some of the highlights are a very rare James Brown 1968 Oakland CA cardboard concert, a Jimi Hendrix cardboard concert poster from Houston that also features he Monkees, a group of cardboard concert posters from Drew University featuring Tim Buckley, Van Morrison, Mountain and others, a collection of numerous posters and handbills from a concert promoter from Texas and music festivals such as Isle of Wight with The Who, The Doors and Jimi Hendrix.
