Esquire Magazine Endorses Dr. Marion D. Thorpe, Jr. for Congress
Fort Lauderdale, FL, October 19, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The November 2008 edition of Esquire Magazine endorses Dr. Marion D. Thorpe, Jr. in the race for US Congress, District 23 (Florida). The magazine edition is entitled, "Man At His Best," and features Halle Berry on the cover. "I am most appreciative of this endorsement" states Dr. Thorpe.
The Sun-Sentinel newspaper of south Florida notes "Esquire got into the political endorsement game in its recent issue, and some incumbents in Congress who are seeking re-election perhaps wished the magazine hadn't. The magazine has this to say about Dr. Thorpe's opponent, Alcee Hastings: "If Hastings didn't keep them alive, race-baiting and stoking black-Hispanic tensions might be dead tactics in Florida."
Dr. Marion D. Thorpe, Jr. readily states that the Thorpe For Congress campaign is firmly committed to improving the lives of all people. "The very first letter of my P.E.A.C.E. platform stands for 'People-First' as a marker of my desire to build bridges and increase access to the American Dream process for all people," states Dr. Thorpe. Thorpe goes on to say that the recent comments made by Alcee Hastings about Governor Sarah Palin and Jews and Blacks are "race-baiting and sexism at their worst."
"In 2008, America must not allow itself to be dragged down the mud-hole of racial intolerance; but rather, Americans must proudly stand united," proclaims Dr. Marion D. Thorpe, Jr.
