Third Wave Digital Announces the Creation of New Nuclear Exhibits
Macon, GA, October 18, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Third Wave Digital, headquartered in Macon, Georgia with satellite offices in Atlanta, Georgia and Orlando, Florida, has over a decade of experience creating interactive, educational games and exhibits for nuclear visitor centers across the country. Adding to their already wide variety of educational solutions, Third Wave announces the creation of two new exhibits: The V.I.P. Experience and the Virtual Plant Tour.
Third Wave created the V.I.P. Experience for Progress Energy’s Harris Nuclear Plant Visitors Center in New Hill, North Carolina. Progress Energy wanted their visitors to enjoy a highly interactive experience while providing Progress Energy with information about the games visitors play while at their facility. For the first stage of this endeavor, Third Wave was contracted to design and develop an ID card delivery system. Upon arrival, visitors create a V.I.P. ID card complete with their name and photo by means of a highly interactive kiosk presentation. Currently, the VIP card can be used to activate key exhibits within the Visitors’ Center. In phase two of this project all exhibits will be retrofitted with card readers, providing a more interactive experience to visitors and allowing Progress Energy to collect information about the those visitors’ experiences.
The Virtual Plant Tour was also created for Progress Energy’s Harris Nuclear Plant Visitors Center. Progress Energy wanted an interactive plant tour that educated visitors about the different areas that make up a nuclear power plant. The virtual tour is an interactive, informative presentation designed to show users what each area is responsible for, daily operations and how the areas interact with one another. Third Wave Digital designed and developed a unique user interface based on an aerial photo of the Harris plant. When visitors select an area of the plant, the presentation flies in to the selected area and plays a series of videos. Third Wave provided all of the conceptualization and programming for the presentation in addition to customized 3-D animations for some of the plant’s areas.
In addition to the V.I.P. Experience and Virtual Plant Tour, Third Wave has provided Progress with other interactive exhibits including Wattage Watch Dog, Used Nuclear Fuel, Energy Master’s Challenge and others.
Bart Campione, President of Third Wave Digital, had this to say about the growth of Third Wave’s nuclear exhibit division, “With the years of experience we can bring to the table and the array of solutions we can offer, TWD is positioned as a leader in the creation of educational and informative energy-related presentations.”
