Housing Authority of Newport to Unveil Latest Development

HAN Announces Open House Showing of New ‘Saragota’ Properties.

Newport, KY, October 23, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Not long ago, much of Saratoga Street in Newport was occupied by overgrown, empty lots and dilapidated buildings. October 27 will mark the grand opening of the Housing Authority of Newport (HAN)’s newest housing development — Saratoga. The event is open to the public and will explore how the new properties are making a positive impact to the Newport community and Campbell County as a whole.

The open house will include guided tours of the homes, blueprints, and before and after statistics of area property values, home prices and money generated for Newport City Schools. The event will also feature the following speakers to discuss the impact these homes are making on the city of Newport:

• Joe Condit, Executive Director of HAN
• Thomas Guidugli, City of Newport Mayor
• Steve Pendery, Judge Executive
• John I. Gilderbloom, Ph.D, University of Louisville

“The Saratoga development is yet another testament to HAN’s positive impact on property value and home ownership within the City of Newport,” HAN deputy director Linda Fields said. “We look forward to helping more community-minded citizens become homeowners and begin a path toward achieving long-term success. We believe that when people take pride in their homes, they take pride in their communities, and this is a tremendously positive step for everyone.”

HAN also owns 363 other rental units in Newport, two senior living facilities and the Marguerite Robinson Community Center, which is available to any Newport resident.

The Saratoga grand opening will be at 621 Saratoga Street in Newport on October 27. The event will begin at 4:00p.m. Tours and information are free and open to the general public, and light refreshments are provided.
