Penta Cares Charity Golf Day Raises Over $36,000 for Fight Against Diabetes
New York, NY, October 23, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Penta Dynamic Solutions, a boutique event planning agency based in downtown Manhattan, hosted the Penta Cares Second Annual Charity Golf Outing on Monday, October 6th with proceeds benefiting the American Diabetes Association (ADA).
The Outing, held at the Lido Golf Club in Lido Beach, NY, honored 6 year old diabetes sufferer Nicole Sciarrino and raised over $36,000 for the cause through the support of sponsors, donations and attendees.
Sponsors included the Contingency Planning Exchange, Monarch Business Resiliency, the Disaster Recovery Institute, Meadows Office Furniture and SeaView Capital Advisors. Golfers were treated to a full-day of golf and entertainment with contest and activity holes throughout the course.
The evening entertainment kicked-off with a cocktail reception featuring a performance from the Knicks City Dancers and music by NYU entertainment. Guests enjoyed a fabulous dinner with wine sponsored by Barefoot Wine. Following dinner, comedian Jeremy Schetcher gave a hilarious performance.
Attendees heard from the day’s honoree, Nicole Sciarrino, who thanked everyone for attending and spoke about the day-to-day challenges she faces in her fight against diabetes. Traci Fonville from the American Diabetes Association also spoke about the important work of the organization.
Amazing items, ranging from a “Romance in New York City” package to a 45-minute private dance lesson with Maksim Chmerkovskiy from “Dancing with the Stars”, dinner and cigars for four at the Grand Havana Room Private Club and a $5,000 gift certificate for portraits by renown photographer Bradford were auctioned off to the highest bidders.
“This outing is one of two wrap around events Penta has helped organize to raise funds for the American Diabetes Association which lead up to the “Live the Good Life” Gala at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel on Thursday November 6,” said Penta President Michele Verdino.
“As our honoree Nicole Sciarrino has shown, diabetes is a debilitating illness to live with which is why the work of the American Diabetes Association is so important. We hope that the Gala will build on the success of the golf outing by raising even more funds for diabetes research, education, and advocacy.”
