Best-Selling Author Max Lucado to Speak at Fundraising Luncheon for Rochester College
Christian author and minister Max Lucado will speak at a fundraising luncheon hosted by Rochester College on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 11:30pm at the Royal Park Hotel in downtown Rochester, Michigan.
Rochester, MI, October 24, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Celebrated Christian author and minister, Max Lucado will be the featured speaker during a mid-day fundraising reception hosted by Rochester College at the Royal Park Hotel in downtown Rochester. This event is part of the college’s 50th Anniversary Celebration.
Dubbed “America’s Best Preacher” in 2005 by Reader’s Digest, he is best known for such titles as In the Grip of Grace, Facing Giants and more recently 3:16 The Numbers of Hope. He received a master’s degree in Biblical Studies from Abilene Christian University and serves as the senior minister of Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas.
"Max writes about the practical, life-transforming power of the gospel in human lives. Because Rochester College is a lab where this sort of thing happens on a daily basis, he is the right person to speak at our annual fall luncheon,” said Rubel Shelly, RC president. “Because we are training young people to take a model of daily discipleship into the workplace, his message will underscore our mission as a Christian school."
The Luncheon with Max Lucado is a community outreach event and fundraiser designed to nurture relationships within the Greater Christian community in the Tri-County area. Tickets are $200 and seating is limited. Proceeds from the fundraiser will help further the mission of Rochester College, a private, 501 (C)(3) nonprofit Christian institution of higher education.
The luncheon is open to the public. More information is available, and tickets can be purchased at www.rc.edu/lucado. Doors open at 11 a.m. at the Royal Park Hotel, 600 E. University Drive, Rochester, Michigan.
