BioFit Draws Up New Styles in Architectural Seating with ArmorSeat
Bowling Green, OH, October 26, 2008 --(PR.com)-- BioFit Engineered Products, an Ohio-based manufacturer and long-standing leader in the development of ergonomic seating solutions, has announced the introduction of its new ArmorSeat line of chairs. The culmination of more than 200 hours of research and development, these products are intended to replace the company’s classic DuraGrain chairs in the architectural design market, offering greater style, design and durability benefits than the original.
“The roots of the DuraGrain chair date back to the 1960s, when people were generally smaller in stature,” reported Ed Metzger, president of BioFit. “Over time, as body shapes evolved so did our need to manufacture seating that works in as many environments as possible.
“Part of that is adapting our products to fit larger body types and part of it is meeting the demand for more attractive looking chairs. In the new ArmorSeat product line, we believe that we’re well on the way to satisfying both aspects of the equation,” Metzger said.
ArmorSeat chairs include fully contoured lines, a waterfall front seat set at an incline of three degrees to help the hips rotate forward for maximum lumbar support, and innovative design elements that are not only eye-pleasing but functional in terms of ventilation and movement. In addition, the chairs are made of a recyclable polypropylene substrate, which is air-fed into the mold by way of gas-assisted technology. It’s a process that reduces the amount of material content in the chair while increasing the structural strength of the frame.
Metzger stated that the company was proud of the fact that it had been able to develop a new seating line that competes with some of the bigger names on style. In his estimation, ArmorSeat products represent a move to a higher-end design reflective of today’s marketplace.
“BioFit is moving toward manufacturing products that architects can look at when designing everything from their own workspaces and lounge facilities to commercial constructions, educational institutions, entertainment venues, food courts and beyond,” Metzger forecast.
