Gulf Coast Venture Forum Monthly Meeting Scheduled for November 13, 2008

The group’s November membership meeting will feature investment presentations from three entrepreneurial, emerging growth companies in the aerospace, lighting technology and home entertainment industries.

Naples, FL, October 30, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Gulf Coast Venture Forum (GCVF) membership meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 13, 2008 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Tiburon Golf Course Clubhouse, 2620 Tiburon Drive in Naples.

The GCVF is a group of Southwest Floridians dedicated to making the region’s new and emerging businesses successful. Members of the Forum meet monthly to learn about local investment opportunities. To encourage capital investments in Southwest Florida businesses, the Forum seeks to identify early-stage sources of private equity investment and venture capital.

Gulf Coast Venture Forum promotes the success of the region's new and emerging businesses by connecting entrepreneurs to early-stage capital sources. The group’s November membership meeting will feature investment presentations from three entrepreneurial, emerging growth companies in the aerospace, lighting technology and home entertainment industries.

Traditionally, local wealth has invested outside the local community, while numerous local businesses sought local financing. To bridge this gap, the Forum presents emerging, promising companies to the local angel and venture capital community.

Members of the Gulf Coast Venture Forum are invited to invest in the companies that are featured at the meetings, but they are not required to do so. Those who choose to invest do so individually, not as a group. Timothy Cartwright, Gulf Coast Venture Forum President says, “Angel investing is risky. It is better done as a team sport rather than an individual sport. At the GCVF, angel investors improve their investment decision process by meeting other angel investors and discussing the merits of investing in a particular start-up company.”

The Gulf Coast Venture Forum is open to new members. Interested parties must qualify as an accredited investor as defined by the US SEC and are encouraged to view www.gcvf.com or call 239-262-6300 for more information. Members from the organization have also been speaking at events throughout Southwest Florida and are available by calling the office.
