The Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation Celebrates 35 Years

A Generous Woman’s Legacy Gives $90 Million in Grants… so Far.

Winter Park, FL, October 31, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Central Florida’s Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation celebrates its thirty-fifth anniversary of service to the people of our community. This highly regarded foundation has "helped people to help themselves" in bettering their lives through community-based nonprofit organizations. With skilled guidance and tremendous resources, The Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation has focused on bringing groups and individuals together in order to create a greater sense of community and outreach to the underserved.

Having generated millions of dollars for grantees, the Foundation recognizes that the most important aspect of their service is the people and the organizations that turn these grants into action, into change and ultimately into results. These organizations are the champions of Central Florida and improve the quality of life for hundreds of thousands of people. With a network of 650 grantee organizations, individuals and charities and over $90 million dollars in donations, grants and funding, The Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation has touched Central Florida in vast and humble ways.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer has worked closely with the Foundation and witnessed the impact it has made on our community. “Our city is a much better place because the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation has stepped up to the plate to make a positive difference in the lives of our citizens,” said Dyer.

The Foundation carries on the trust imparted to it by its namesake Mrs. Edyth Bush. This dynamic woman dedicated her life to promoting philanthropy throughout the community with grace and humility. With a keen sense for the future, she helped create a foundation that would grow, flourish and evolve in step with each generation it served. Steeped in tradition, the Foundation has leveraged its resources, experience and influence to continue its mission with progressive enthusiasm and energy. The Foundation supports programs dealing in education, arts, health and human services for many needy individuals, families and organizations throughout Central Florida.

It is the Board of Directors desire, that the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation continues to be a vibrant and innovative proponent in Central Florida. They pledge their experience and diligent guidance in fulfilling Mrs. Bush’s passion for community and love of mankind.

Since inception, the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation has been enriched by the Richard J. Conlee Fund and the H. Clifford Lee Fund. Though it does not actively solicit outside donations, the Foundation will work with organizations and philanthropists to achieve their charitable goals.

The Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation reaches out to our community to recognize the positive impact both individuals and organizations can make through philanthropy and volunteerism on their neighborhoods, towns and cities. The Foundation would also like to recognize all of the 2008 Honorees of National Philanthropy Day in Central Florida on November 6, 2008- a day to keep in our hearts all year round.
