Media Genesis Creates Presentation for Microsoft, Motorola Product Launch
Media Genesis, a multimedia development company in Troy, Mich., recently helped launch the publicity for a new suite of products and services from Lowry Computer, Microsoft, Motorola, and Zebra Technologies for RFID food tracking solutions. The goal of the product, called Secure Visibility, is for safer produce in the marketplace.
Troy, MI, October 31, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Jump on a plane to Oahu, bring your photo and video gear, and get ready to shoot high tech vegetables.
No, it’s not a bizarre new pleasure cruise—it’s just another day in the life at Media Genesis, a Web development company in Metro Detroit, Michigan.
The purpose of this demanding rush assignment is to document a new food traceability program on the Big Island called Secure Visibility™. Secure Visibility™ is being piloted right now in Hawaii with help from the state government and investment from the four main corporate partners. Lowry Computer, Microsoft Corporation, Motorola, and Zebra Technologies have all teamed up to develop a comprehensive track and trace food chain solution, enabling safer produce in the marketplace.
Lowry Computer hired Media Genesis to help launch Secure Visibility™, a full suite of software connected with RFID technology to help track vegetables from the location, picker harvester all the way to distribution in major retail outlets. Secure Visibility™ uses Motorola handheld computers running Microsoft OS for the data capture and tracking—and labels are printed on Zebra printers.
RFID technology is a technology that allows labels affixed to a product to send a signal as they pass a sensor – the information contained can provide the name of the person who has picked the fruit of vegetable, the time of day, and the location. This information then stays with the product throughout the entire supply chain and can be tracked at all times.
Lowry Computer Products first began providing tracking solutions in the automotive sector, but has since found tremendous applications based on recent produce scares, such as spinach, tomatoes, and lettuce.
Media Genesis created the presentation from proprietary photography and video, taken live at Nalo Farms, Hawaii, by a Media Genesis team of photographers. Using custom animation, video, and audio, a team of designers followed up the live capture by sewing the project together for launch.
Secure Visibility’s debut to the world took place at a trade show on Oct. 24 in Orlando, Fla. The video and technology were both well received and hope to gain converts for a more secure food safety system—Secure Visibility™.
Lowry Computer provides RFID-EPC, wireless, barcode and data collection solutions across a variety of systems, including end-to-end asset management, supply chain visibility, and track and trace. For more information visit either www.securevisibility.com or www.lowrycomputer.com.
Media Genesis provides businesses with an array of services ranging from interactive multimedia, Web development, consulting, e-learning courses, maintenance programs and marketing campaigns. For more information visit www.mediaG.com.
