New Book Gives Young Adults a Formula for Success in Work, Relationships and Money

Los Angeles, CA, October 31, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Politicians, educators and activists routinely decry the nation’s young adults as underprepared for the twenty-first century’s global economy. But few offer the practical, common-sense approaches needed to shore up America’s most precious resource: the next generation. Now, a new book from author Marc Boyajian provides young adults the skill sets they didn’t learn in school necessary for achieving success throughout the rest of their lives.

Just released by Outskirts Press (www.outskirtspress.com), “The End Result” speaks directly to young adults as it gives invaluable insight on everything from succeeding in college and the workforce to finding satisfying relationships and preparing for retirement. Packed with real-life examples, “The End Result” is a unique guidebook outlining tips big and small to get on the right life track. Readers will learn the basics of finance (credit, saving and monthly budgeting); satisfying relationships (the keys to long-lasting friendships and love relationships); and getting and holding a job (including the 26 rules to get in good with the boss). There are also chapters on family planning, retirement and overcoming challenges.

The goal is for readers to gain the skills people once took for granted but now many grow up lacking. “No one is born with the knowledge of how to live life,” writes Boyajian, “how to plan, how to implement, how to achieve. And life has become harder and harder for everyone.”

Experts agree America’s youth and young adults aren’t being given the tools necessary for success – tools directly addressed in “The End Result.” A 2007 issue brief from the nonprofit advocacy group America’s Promise notes that “a large percentage of the children and youth who will enter the workforce over the next two decades are lacking enough of the ‘soft’ or applied skills – such as teamwork, decision-making, and communication – that will help them become effective employees and managers.”

And “The End Result” isn’t just for those striking out on their own for the first time. With its keen insight into what’s missing in today’s educational system, it’s also required reading for policy-makers. And the easy-to-understand, relevant tone makes it appropriate for younger readers in middle and high school who could use a leg up on the rest of their lives.

“The End Result” is now available through Ingram, Baker & Taylor, Amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com, and the online bookstore of Outskirts Press, at outskirtspress.com/store.php.
