DAVACO’S "KOZ for the Cure" Prepares for Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk. Employee Team Raises Funds to Participate in 60-Mile Walk.

(www.davacoinc.com), the national leading provider of retail services, announced today that the company’s employee team, known as DAVACO’s “Koz for the Cure”, is making their final training and fundraising efforts in anticipation of the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk (http://www.the3day.org). The Dallas event is scheduled for November 7 - 9, 2008 and is part of a series of three day, 60-mile walks across 14 cities nationwide that raise millions of dollars for breast cancer research, education and community outreach programs.
“We are so proud to have employees that are willing to invest the time and energy to be a part of such an important cause,” said Rick Davis, CEO. “As a company, we support and applaud these individuals who have been working diligently for months to not only raise funds, but also to physically prepare for this exciting and arduous journey of 60 miles in three days.”
Breast Cancer 3-Day participants travel an average of 20 miles a day during each event, raising awareness for breast cancer programs and breast health messages along the way. Participants are provided meals, snacks, liquids, mobile showers, tents, safety guidelines, 24-hour medical support – all resources needed for a safe and memorable experience.
Each member of the team is responsible for raising $2,200 to participate in the event. The team’s individual and joint fundraising efforts included a variety of activities at DAVACO, like bake sales, auctions and a used book sale. In addition, a variety of businesses have made in-kind donations or financial contributions to the team, including Nike and New Balance, and numerous other local retailers and restaurants. As part of DAVACO’s sponsorship of the team, the company covered the costs of registration for each member, supported fundraising and provided an additional day off for participating associates.
