Capitol Christmas Tree Artwork to be Auctioned

Montana's Bitterroot National Forest was selected to provide the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. with the 2008 "People's Tree." Artists across the state were selected to provide original artwork for the project.

Hamilton, MT, November 01, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Georgine Forgatch's company Lisa Archer Silks silk painting for the Capitol Christmas Tree Project for Montana among 10 to be auctioned off on November1, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Mildenberger Motors.

Georgine's artistic journey started as a young girl with dreams of creating colorful designs of fabric. Using silk as her medium for many years, she feels it best captures the beauty and colors of nature, thus taking an ancient and fine textile to create works of art.

Living in the Bitterrrt Valley of Montana allows Georgine to experience and reflect the stunning sight, sounds and colorful impact of nature in her work. These majestic mountains are her inspiration for "A Montana Bitterroot Gift" creation. Her painting includes some of the state's finest treasures by capturing the colors on silk Charmeuse in a stylized, All-American Folk Art approach. The silk dyes that are used while painting fuse theselves into the silk fiber, creating an array of vibrant hues and tones. To capture the process, the piece is then steam set.
