Don Meyers of Laboratory Testing Inc. Named ASNT Technician of the Month
The Greater Philadelphia Chapter of ASNT recognized Don Meyers, a 14-year employee and Liquid Penetrant Inspection Lead at Laboratory Testing Inc. The August 2008 "Technician of the Month" award was presented to Meyers for outstanding quality and experience in the field of nondestructive testing.
Hatfield, PA, November 02, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Don Meyers of Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI) received the “Technician of the Month” Award from the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of ASNT (The American Society for Nondestructive Testing) for August 2008. Meyers holds the position of Liquid Penetrant Inspection Lead in the Nondestructive Testing Department at LTI and has been with the company for nearly 14 years. His responsibilities include scheduling all Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI) orders, assisting in the training of LPI personnel, and processing and inspecting material. Don holds certifications as a Level II Inspector in Liquid Penetrant, Radiography, and Visual Inspection.
Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI) is a convenient method of identifying surface flaws on products or parts of almost any shape and made of materials that are not extremely rough or porous. Both fluorescent penetrant and visible dye inspections are performed at LTI on products up to 40 ft. long. The 2,500 sq. ft. liquid penetrant area is equipped with three large penetrant dip tanks, a 40 ft. by 3 ft. dwell tank for pipe, tubing, bar, etc., and a large inspection room with three high-intensity black lights.
