Rishi Tea Seven-Time Winner at 2008 World Tea Championship
Rishi Tea, the leading importer of organic and Fair Trade loose-leaf tea, takes home seven First Place awards at the 2008 World Tea Championship. Rishi Tea is also the first company to win the prestigious Best Tea Awards with organic tea.
Las Vegas, NV, November 02, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Winning seven First Place awards, more than double the amount of any other contestant, Rishi Tea led the pack at the first annual World Tea Championship at the 2008 World Tea Expo. More than 300 teas were submitted by dozens of the world’s leading tea growers and tea brands for evaluation and rating by a select group of the tea industry’s leading tea experts.
Rishi Tea, the leading importer of organic artisan tea in North America, was especially honored that all seven First Place Awards were captured by its organic teas in some of the most prestigious and competitive categories, including Earl Grey, Jasmine and Japanese Green Tea, to name a few. "We are especially thrilled that all of our winning teas are organic, when most of the other entries were conventional," said Rishi partner Benjamin Harrison.
“Awards are great, but advancing the argument that organic tea can be just as good, if not better, than conventional tea is one of our core missions—and the recent validation is the real reward,” said Joshua Kaiser, the founder of Rishi Tea. “This year’s event reinforces our mission: To offer the best teas of each season direct from the garden, and to continuously set the standard for certified organic tea with artisan spirit.”
