Local Wine Enthusiasts Create Washington Wine Trails the Board Game
West Richland, WA, November 04, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The just released board game, Washington Wine Trails, was created and designed by Joe Mason Seth Portteus and Dave Portteus and is sold by game company Mind Games LLC. Friends and family will enjoy gathering to play this exciting new game that is both fun and educational. Players will learn about Washington state wine facts, wine & food pairing, tasting tips, definitions and pronunciations, not to mention what not to do while wine touring.
The object of the game is to be the player with the most prestige. In the game, prestige points are awarded by collecting wine cards, (including hard to find wines that can only be found by exploring the “back trails”) learning about wine, and completing the games “dinner party” collections. A player loses prestige by committing “faux pas” or social mishaps that occur in the tasting room and on the wine trail.
The game designers, wanted to create a fun way to educate consumers about wine tasting, the Washington wine industry, and what not to do on a wine tour. With this in mind, the designers started Mind Games LLC and began the process of making Washington Wine Trails. Two years in the making, the long anticipated game has now arrived. The game includes over 200 cards with information about wine tasting, food pairing, and industry facts, as well as “faux pas” that you can hopefully avoid. The game is based on actual experiences in Washington state tasting rooms . The game has a local feel that area residents and visitors alike will enjoy. Each of the photographs featured on the game cards were taken in Yakima Valley tasting rooms and feature local wines.
