Obama & Cool Weirdo Music's Peter Hadar, Both Release Their Formulas for Change on Election Day
Sophomore album available on iTunes & Everywhere Tuesday November 4th. New distribution deal with INgrooves; second single ‘Planets,’ new video.
New York, NY, November 04, 2008 --(PR.com)-- On Tuesday November 4th, two monumental events will take place in the United States. We will elect a new president, and independent singer/songwriter Peter Hadar will release his sophomore album "Well Dressed For The Art Show" on iTunes and everywhere; both representing a change in the status quo. Produced under Hadar's own imprint Cool Weirdo Music, the album was originally released to the press in June, and has since garnered critical acclaim by the likes of Essence.com, who deemed it "an eclectic sonic masterpiece", and VIBE's Hype Magazine who called it “a healthy alternative to mainstream.”
The quality of the album also attracted digital distributor INgrooves, who has since picked it up and is issuing the November release. INgrooves also distributes projects from Cool Kids, Thievery Corporation, Too Short, J Dilla, and Dolly Parton.
Peter Hadar's music has been best described as a mix between Jaheim and Kanye; a fusion of R&B, rock, and electronica. First single 'Painted', is already in heavy rotation on dozens of international on and offline radio stations and mixtapes. Meanwhile, Hadar's keen fashion sense and unique vision continue to overlap and advance his career. The latest example of which, is infectious second single 'Planets' attracting the ear of a surprise "Angel" who stars in the soon to be released video, that was directed by Chike and Coodie who also directed Kanye's debut 'Through The Wire' and Mos Def's 'Body Rock'.
The last quarter has been busy for Hadar; he hit the road opening for artists including Grammy nominee Raheem DeVaughn, Estelle, J*Davey, Mickey Factz, and the Cool Kidz on stages across the country. Peter Hadar was also a featured artist on both MySpace Music and BET-Listen Up; his music has enjoyed a warm reception on tastemaker blogs and websites including Billboard.com and SOHH.
Hadar is currently in the studio working on his much-anticipated third album, two tours in '09, and a new marketing extension of his 'Cool Weirdo' brand called The Honors Program. He's also wrapping up another release with his new DrumNBass group '2 Seconds From Being Committed'; a meeting of the minds with his production partner Mike Genato's and James Ronaghan's band 'Mathematics'. Refusing to be boxed in, Peter Hadar is creating the music that feels good to him, hoping that we get it. If not, he says he's "gonna keep rockin".
When asked about presidential hopeful Barack Obama, Hadar states, "As a black singer, I want people to listen to my music and like it for what it is, not having preconceived expectations or limitations. I believe Barack Obama wants the same. To be elected because of what he stands for, and to not have his color sway us for or against. I support his formula for the future, and I want the world to support mine."
Vote for a Change on November 4th. Cast your ballot for Barack Obama, and buy your copy of Peter Hadar's 'Well Dressed For The Art Show.'
