Forever Friends Edited by Shelagh Watkins
This collection of stories and poems, created by members of the Published Authors Forum on the world wide web, reflects the bond of friendship between writers from all over the world.
South Wales, United Kingdom, November 05, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Writing Community Unites to Write “Forever Friends”
As they formed new friendships based on their love of writing, members of the Published Authors forum decided to join together in an anthology of short stories and poems. They wrote uplifting fiction and non-fiction stories and inspiring poems on the theme of friendship.
This project attracted contributions from many writers, with a final selection of thirty-one stories and twenty-nine poems from forty-seven contributors. The attraction of this collection of work lies in its diversity and variety of genres. From romance and mystery to fantasy and science fiction, there is something for everyone. While some stories are short and pithy, others are thought-provoking and satisfying. All are entertaining.
Shelagh Watkins, the administrator of publishedauthors.org, who set up Mandinam Press in January 2008, published and edited this varied collection of captivating stories and poetry.
Shelagh, who was born in Lancashire, is also one of the writers whose work is included in the anthology, Forever Friends. Her short story, A Friend In Need, is about the friendship between two schoolboys that lasts into adulthood. “I'm honoured to be among such fine writers,” says Shelagh. “It's great to be able to use my love of writing in this testament to the friendship of writers from all over the world. I hope this project will be an enormous success.”
Forever Friends is a celebration of the power of friendship and human relationships. The breadth and depth of the stories cover all ages from young to old. Filled with love and respect for family, friends, pets and even a telescope, these stories are guaranteed to entertain the most discerning reader. Thoughtful poems of friendship and love will bring smiles or tears and encourage readers to read the next story. The fiction and non-fiction works in this book express friendship as timeless, enduring and forever.
“Many people have said they plan to order copies for everyone on their holiday list,” says Shelagh Watkins. “What a wonderful way to give a present that celebrates love and friendship from all over the world.”
Most writers are available for interviews, readings, and book signings.
