International Consumers' Demand for Luxe Bargains is Growing

The demand for luxe bargains is growing with international consumers. The dramatic growth of online private/sample sites is in direct response to this need.

Philadelphia, PA, November 04, 2008 --(PR.com)-- As the economic picture continues to look unstable, many consumers are on the hunt for quality styles at reduced prices. "Today's consumer still wants the luxe look, but is hesitant to spend as much, especially in these trying times," says Yolanda Keil, producer of the US/EU designer sales listing blog, Fashion Steals (www.fashionsteals.com).

Yolanda continues, "This drive to spend less on quality purchases is not limited to the United States. In the last two weeks, my blog has referred over 30 new members to the European online private sale site, Vente-Privee. The trend is growing. It's good business and an evolution of the retail industry. The word is spreading too.

Koodos, another European online site offers both traditional and private, member-only sales. On October 9th, Secret Sales, England's first online private sales site, went live."

The market is not limited to just the standard designer clothing and accessories either. Home accessories, sports equipment, electronics & technology, and travel items are selling just as well.

Yolanda closes with, "Designers and retailers alike are reaching out to blogs like mine to reach those savvy spenders. I've definitely seen an increase in the number of sales to feature and I'm selective; the sales I post must be at least 50% off retail."
