“The clothing speaks to the fun-loving nature of children,” explains Cole, who returned to her childhood interest in fashion design after stints in law and finance and the birth of her two sons, whose effortless and contagious laughter led to the brand’s name. “I wanted to make a statement with my line.”
Bright hues, fine-gauge knits and eye-catching silhouettes prove to be hallmarks of Cole’s creations, and for the initial collection she drew inspiration from the distinctive colorations of labels like Pucci and Missoni and dance genres aligned with her Latin heritage. Cole skillfully weds elements from the ’60s and ’70s, such as shift dresses and chevron-stripe patterns, with cutting-edge shapes that mirror current fashion trends.
