The long-awaited LZR Racer, fresh off multiple medal winning performances this summer is finally available for purchase at D&J Sports.
The LZR Racer, launched in February 2008, utilizes a high-technology swimwear fabric composed of woven elastane-nylon and polyurethane-Gortex. Designed by Speedo, in conjunction with NASA, the Australian Institute of Sports and Speedo’s sponsored athletes; the LZR is marketed as the world’s fastest swimsuit. Spearheaded and proven by Olympic athletes, including Michael Phelps, in the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, the LZR Racer received 33 of the first 36 awarded Olympic medals and broke 62 world records.
Including both a men and women’s line, the LZR Racer uses similar elements in each line’s construction. The men’s line features a full body suit, known as the "Bodyskin", a full-length "Legskin" pant and a knee-length "Jammer" short pant. The women’s line includes a full-length zippered “Bodyskin”, similar to the male suit, as well as a full length and knee-length versions of the suit with a strap-on back, instead of the zippered men’s version, known as the "Recordbreaker" suit.
