WomenEtcetera! Selects Laura Kay House as W! Award Recipient

WomenEtcetera! An online community established by women for women over 50 brings high-tech and high-touch together at their “Celebrating Women Over 50” conference at Raleigh’s Marriott City Center.

Raleigh, NC, November 08, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Raleigh resident Laura Kay House is to be awarded the W! award at the WomenEtcetera! Conference luncheon in Raleigh Saturday, November 15.

"Laura was chosen for the W! award for her dedication and passion in offering a variety of socialization opportunities for those age 55+." said Suzanne Caplan, entrepreneur, author, speaker and founder of WomenEtcetera!

House is the Meetup organizer of "Socializing is a Must for Those 55+" and founder of Silver Connections, a membership community of active 55+ individuals.

"Forming new friendships and finding positive social activities can be difficult at any age, but for those 55 and over, it can create unique challenges. Social integration and good social networks are vital to those in the 55+ years!" commented Laura.

Caplan created the WomenEtcetera! online community for women over 50 to address their concerns about health, finances, balance in life, how they work and how they play.

The day long WomenEtcetera! conference is all about being a 50+ fabulous female. Ten breakout sessions cover topics geared to replenish, rebuild, reshape and reinvent attendees.

"We want our attendees to come away feeling they can reach their goals, that all things are possible." said Caplan.

Keynote Speaker at the event is Barbara Petty, publisher of "Boom! Magazine." Speakers include Suzanne Caplan and C.J. Golden, author of "The Tao of the Defiant Woman". Filling out the events’ speakers are local businesswomen Connie Sedlak (Curves), Garla Smith and Michelle Yanik (Smart Moms), Cyndi Bulka (Moving Mantra Yoga Studio), Alyssa Maco (Women's Business Center), Phran Gacher (Inside Out Healings), Anna K. Lore (Women's Financial Network, LLC) and Eileen Batson (Batson Group Marketing and PR).
