Brothers Celebrate 50 Years in Optometry Practice Serving Four Generations of Loyal Patients
Houston, TX, November 10, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Westheimer Vision Associates congratulates, Albert Romano, O.D. and Gerald Romano, O.D. as they celebrate 50 years in practice, and Houston Mayor Bill White proclaims November 19th, 2008 as Dr. Albert Romano and Dr. Gerald Romano Day.
The Romanos will celebrate the day with an Open House from 1:30 to 6:00 pm. at the Westheimer Vision practice. They are located at 10260 Westheimer, Suite 580, Houston 77042.
In an era marked by quick in-and-out medical care, the Romanos have built a practice and reputation as doctors who care for their patient’s well-being above all else. They followed in the footsteps of their father, Anthony Romano, Sr., who opened Texas Optical downtown in the 1940’s. Albert and Gerry Romano began an optometric practice in 1958 with the help of their late brother, Anthony (Buck) Romano, serving four generations of loyal patients.
Both graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1958 and went on to become two of the most respected optometrists in Houston. And, they have been leaders in professional optometric organizations and honor societies. Dr. Albert Romano trained several generations of doctors as a lecturer at the University of Houston College of Optometry for 20 years and both pioneered clinical investigations for several large contact lens manufacturers.
As part of their commitment to help Houston’s children see clearly, they have provided free exams for charitable organizations such as Eye Care for Kids. Under their direction, the office also participates in the national InfantSEE Program, providing free exams for infants between 6 and 12 months of age. Dr. Gerry travels to Guatemala every year as part of the Sending Our Servants program, which provides visual, medical and surgical assistance to those who are less fortunate.
The legacy of commitment and care continues at Westheimer Vision Associates under the thoughtful leadership of doctors who share the Romano’s vision and values of continuing professional development. They are committed to a lifetime of visual well-being for their thousands of loyal patients.
The Romanos express their heartfelt thanks to all that have contributed to their success and look forward to serving their family of patients for years to come.
