ARISE Foundation Will Conduct a Five-Day Master Life Skills Training Experience in Washington, D.C. For Those That Work with At-Risk Populations and Incarcerated Youth

Washington, DC, November 09, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The nonprofit ARISE Foundation is gearing up for a weeklong life skills training workshop in the nation’s capitol November 10-14. Juvenile Justice staff and those working with at-risk populations in a variety of settings will take part in the Master Life Skills training in order to become ARISE Certified Master Life Skills Trainers.

As ARISE Certified Master Life Skills Trainers, participants of this five-day training workshop will be able to take what they have learned and train others at their organization on how to conduct innovative guided group discussions and activities with troubled youth and young adults in their charge. ARISE Life Skills lessons have been specifically created for learners with substantial reading and learning deficiencies in addition to serious behavioral issues. The Master Life Skills training will train others to steer youth in the right direction by providing new trainers with ARISE breakthrough curricula that help disadvantaged youth grasp life’s unwritten rules. Among the 260 life lessons ARISE has created are: anger and conflict management, self esteem, parenting and job search skills.

For over 20 years, ARISE has developed and published unique Life Management Skills curricula and staff training programs. The curricula was originally designed to educate at-risk, emotionally disturbed and incarcerated youth held under lock-and-key behind 12-foot high razor wire and chain link fences.

ARISE is also utilized as a powerful prevention tool for teenagers and young adults. It has been successfully used for decades by alternative schools, Boys and Girls clubs and over 100 Washington, D.C. schools, organizations and secure facilities.

Since ARISE was established over two decades ago, it has trained and certified over 5,000 instructors who have taught over 4,000,000 documented hours of ARISE life skills lessons in Florida alone. ARISE is also being used across the USA ,in Canada, Jamaica, England, Australia, Bahamas, Bermuda, New Zealand, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Bosnia, Kazakhstan, The Kingdom of Bahrain, and Central Asia. The ARISE curricula is presently being translated into Kazakh and Russian for use with orphans. For more information, visit www.ariselife-skills.org.
