Medical Device Package Testing Firm DDL Earns a Spot on Minneapolis/St.Paul Business Journal’s Fast 50
Twin Cities based company jumps 15 spots over last year’s rankings.

DDL, along with 49 other privately held Twin Cities companies, gathered on the 50th floor of the IDS Tower and awaited the announcement of Minneapolis/St.Paul Business Journal’s Fast 50. DDL was ranked number 27, their highest ranking in the three years that they’ve participated.
“Our position in this year’s Fast 50 is a true testament to the quality of our services, particularly in medical device package testing,” said Patrick Nolan, COO of DDL. “This, along with our commitment to providing the highest level of technical expertise has ensured we maintain positive relationships with our clients.”
DDL placed 50th in 2005, their first year having participated. They took home the 42nd spot in 2006 and jumped 15 places to take the 27th spot this year.
DDL was successfully run by about 20 employees from its beginning in 1990 until 2003. Since 2003 DDL has more than doubled its employees and its revenue with a 226 percent growth in the last five years.
"Over the past five years, DDL has consistently proven itself to be an expanding and profitable company,” said John Hart, CEO of DDL. “We consider our success to be a direct result of our client retention, aggressive marketing efforts and the improved quality in our processes as a result of our ISO 90001 registration in 2003."
The Fast 50 rankings were based on the percentage of growth in revenues in the three-year period from 2005-2007. Companies had to be privately held and based in the 11-county Twin Cities metro area. Firms were required to have $1 million in revenue in the first year and progressive growth in the following two years.
All applications were then reviewed and audited by Virchow Krause & Company in Minneapolis for verification.
