Introducing Porscheophile.com-- a Celebration of Porsche
Ann Arbor, MI, November 13, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The newest lifestyle blog on the internet is devoted to all things Porsche-- automotive and otherwise.
Porscheophile.com, the creation of Rick Ratliff, an Ann Arbor, MI-based interactive media veteran and self-described Porsche fanatic, is relentlessly updated for Porsche fans who can never get enough of their 911s, Caymans, Boxsters or Cayennes.
Subjects range from reviews of the latest Porsche models to video of new Porsche commercials to Porsche-designed racing posters, watches and earrings, to recommendations about great places to drive the amazing sports cars. Ratliff tries to attack his subjects with humor and insight.
“Porsche is a truly iconic brand,” said Ratliff, 55. “The mystique of Porsche extends from its amazing racing history to the celebrities and everyday people who drive them, and the stories they all can tell.”
But as he developed the blog, Ratliff soon realized Porsche is not just a car company. It is also a cult.
“Porsche Design alone creates classic designs for everything from shoes to external CD Rom drives,” he said. “There are people out there who paint their Porsches in psychedelic colors, and people buy racing video game controllers that look like steering wheels from 911s.”
Porscheophile.com also features a personal touch. Ratliff, who himself owns a 2007 Boxster S, peppers the blogs with his own observations-- about great drives he has had as well as his propensity for top down driving even in cold and rainy weather.
He also expects to get a lot of criticism from his readers for his recent decision to drive the car in a Michigan winter-- on all-season tires.
“Some people will consider that a sacrilege,” he said. “I consider it an adventure.”
