President Gregg Steinberg participated in the Housing Workshop for Builders in Biloxi, Mississippi on May 24 to address the housing construction challenges on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Buffalo Grove, IL, June 03, 2006 --(PR.com)-- International Profit Associates (IPA-IBA) President Gregg Steinberg participated in the Housing Workshop for Builders in Biloxi, Mississippi on May 24.
Guests were invited to attend the housing workshop to address housing construction opportunities and challenges on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The meeting focused on those factors that either facilitate or hinder the construction of housing. The information provided was intended to give builders the tools they need to make an informed decision regarding their potential commitment to helping rebuild the coast. Specific issues discussed included: an assessment of housing needs, available funding sources, policies that affect housing construction, workforce housing needs and the growing housing market north of the coastal counties.
Steinberg discussed the role that International Profit Associates could play in providing technical assistance to contractors and in assisting the displaced residents with affordable housing. 70,000 residences were destroyed in hurricane affected areas of Mississippi and only a small portion of them have been rebuilt. Many of those who have been displaced are still living in FEMA trailers.
“It is imperative that the private sector do all in its power to assist during this vital time of need,” said Steinberg. “We are utilizing various resources available to IPA to do just this.”
