Help to Defeat the Bully

Columbia, SC, November 18, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Did you know that 30% of all school age children are likely to experience some form of bullying during the school year?

Did you know that children who get bullied, typically develop poor self esteem, have little self confidence and will often drop out of school and abuse alcohol and/or drugs?

Samurai Karate Studio, located at 2000 Clemson Road, Suite # 9, Columbia, SC 29229; is holding a Free anti bully workshop on Saturday, November 22nd at 10:00am and 11:00am. The public is invited.

Sensei Feldt, owner and chief instructor of Samurai Karate Studio will be presenting every day strategies to deal with bullies in a non confrontational kind of way.

"When I was a young child, it was common to deal with a bully by meeting him behind the school and fighting him," commented Sensei Feldt, "but today's rules against violence, rightfully so, are much stricter!" "I work with the kids to develop their confidence and help them figure out how to avoid the bully in the first place."

Topics covered will include body language, staying alert, eye contact as well as some controlling techniques if the child is about to get hurt.
