From Land Rover to ActionCOACH, Gary Harding is in Top Gear
“I am looking forward to the next few years where I will learn new skills, meet new people and be a successful ActionCOACH.”
Las Vegas, NV, November 20, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Master Licensee Tom Malone has named Gary Harding as the newest ActionCOACH in the United Kingdom.
His office will be located in Solihull, UK, and he will be operating within the West Midlands region with his main focus being the Solihull district.
Prior to becoming an ActionCOACH, Harding worked as a manager within the Land Rover Engineering department. He led a team of 15 Engineers, designing and developing the Land Rover infotainment systems, including radios, media players, antenna systems etc.
“Besides leading the team, I frequently found myself coaching the team members on the most effective ways to deliver their responsibilities,” he said. “This is when I discovered that coaching came naturally to me.”
Harding also operates an internet-based retail business of his own, specializing in Scalextric slot cars and parts from the 1960s through to the 1990s.
“What started out as a hobby turned into a successful business,” he said. “To date I have served 1539 customers worldwide representing all five continents.”
Harding was able to freely demonstrate his creativity as an engineer within the Land Rover Company. He personally invented and developed the world’s first car “off road navigation system” feature, which was released in 1999 on the Range Rover vehicle.
As a representative of the Hillman Imp owners club, Harding has been interviewed for a TV show and has been mentioned in several national magazine articles. He also appeared on the cover of a national classic car magazine.
Harding clearly likes success and knows how to succeed.
“Managing and leading teams comes naturally to me. I understand the fundamentals of operating a business and am tenacious about achieving the desired results,” he said. “I also have a passion for helping others achieve great results.”
Harding found ActionCOACH to be in sharp contrast to the corporate environment he had been in.
“ActionCOACH is much more disciplined – something I missed in my previous corporation,” he said. “ActionCOACH team members are extremely professional and seem to know where they are headed with a clarity that is hard to find in the corporate world.”
For Harding, ActionCOACH not only meant a step toward realizing his dream but also a positive change in his lifestyle.
“I was spending 10 to 11 hours a day away from home and that meant missing out on family activities,” he said. “I now want to spend more time with my wife and children because I do not want to miss out on their growing years. With ActionCOACH, I will now be able to get a perfect work/life balance.”
Harding is excited about his new role as an ActionCOACH.
“I will be working with the best people and processes- ActionCOACH has both these in abundance,” he said. “I am excited about joining this type of community and look forward to making some great contributions.”
A member of the Classic Car Club supporting the Hillman Imp, Harding has written many technical articles for the club magazine, a buyer’s guide and has also attended numerous classic car shows as a representative of the club.
ActionCOACH is the world’s number one business coaching firm, with more than 1,000 offices in 26 countries. To learn more, go to actioncoach.com.
