Infonic Receives Certificate of Networthiness from Army

WAN optimization technology, Infonic Geo-Replicator, has been certified by the US Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) for use within the Army's networks and infrastructures.

Reston, VA, November 20, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The US Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) grants Infonic with a Certificate of Networthiness (CoN) for Infonic’s Geo-Replication technologies. Before any external software can be used on the Army’s networks, it must have this credential. After six months of testing and undergoing stringent assessments, NETCOM has ensured that Infonic’s Geo-Replication technologies are secure, supportable, sustainable, and compatible with the Army’s networks and infrastructures.

The Geo-Replicator product suite consists of a Server to Server (S2S) replication product and a Server to Laptop (S2L) product. S2S solution optimizes network bandwidth to allow military organizations to collaborate on large files over the WAN at different distributed locations at LAN speeds. The S2L solution virtualizes web-based, central data onto field users’ laptops so they can still access data even when a network connection is unavailable, essentially making WAN content available offline.

The product suite is optimized for Microsoft SharePoint, but can also be used with file stores or any file-based system that is accessible over a WAN. Both Geo-Replication products are ideal for the US Army as they overcome network and connectivity challenges for remote and field personnel. The WAN optimization technology provides guaranteed and rapid access to central files for end-users to make enterprise-wide collaboration possible anytime and anywhere.

“Infonic is proud to receive this certificate as it demonstrates how committed we are to delivering the best and most secure software to our DoD customers to enhance global collaboration,” comments Roger Carlsen, Vice President of Federal Sales for Infonic, “This certification should help expand our level of trust with the Army and further develop deeper relationships with other military organizations.”

The company has been providing world-class software solutions to US defense organizations for more than seven years. To learn more about how Infonic has helped clients in the federal space, visit http://www.infonic-geo-replication.com/us.
