Pete Hubbard's Art is Featured at First Saturday Artwalk in Vallejo, CA
First Saturday Art Walk in downtown Vallejo showcases the work of Pete Hubbard plus local artists, craftspeople and designers.
Vallejo, CA, December 07, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Ten paintings by the prolific painter Pete Hubbard are featured in downtown Vallejo's First Saturday Art Walk event on Dec. 6, 2008 from 4-9pm. The paintings are being shown at two participating galleries, Sardelich and OffTheMark.
OffTheMark’s owner, Jeremy Snyder, a painter himself, has selected an oddball mix of Pete's spontanous early oils. Pete’s Triptych Squiggle paintings are a thought provoking match to Jeremy's large Symbol Door painting hanging nearby. Boldly arranged, facing the street in the gallery window are five of Pete's paintings from his 2004-2005 “New & The Quick” series, including one from his famous "Vallejo Collaborative Art" series.
Sardelich Gallery, is showing two of Pete’s current still life paintings, based on studies of Cezanne and three recent fantasy landscapes, of the Yangtze River Gorge inspired by Chinese landscape painting. The colorful framed acrylics enhance the interesting eclectic custom furniture showcased by the gallery.
The Vallejo First Saturday Art Walk kicked off successfully in November 2008 with a lively mix of artist’s and art lovers attending exhibits in six galleries. Gallery owners are well informed about the blossoming local art scene.
The next First Saturday in Vallejo is scheduled for Sat. Dec. 6, 2008. It runs from 4-9 pm. Nine downtown galleries are participating and will be showing the work of local Vallejo artists including painting, photography, mixed-media, sculpture, fabric, ceramics, jewelry, furniture and silk screen. Wine and delicious snacks are available at all the galleries. Nine local Vallejo restaurants will be open during the event.
