After years of charging a flat fee for delivery, online UK photographic supply store 7DayShop.com has switched to Free Delivery for all orders. And the customers are loving it.
Guernsey, United Kingdom, December 03, 2008 --(PR.com)-- 7DayShop.com had for years been successfully selling photographic equipment and accessories online, but they felt something was holding back sales.
"We know that alot of our customers were unhappy with our post and packaging costs," says Andre de Carteret, spokesperson for 7DayShop.com
"Although we offer the lowest prices in the UK for our stock, many customers were abandoning shopping carts at the checkout point. Although we only charged a flat rate of £3.95 for postage, it was enough to put a lot of customers off."
The decision to adjust prices to reflect postage costs has delighted customers.
"Now the customer knows that the price they see is the price they pay - no extra fees," says de Carteret. "Previously many customers waited until they needed several items before ordering to spread the postage cost. We've seen a doubling of small value orders since we made the change, so we're very happy."
And the customer feedback has been entirely positive too.
