Gold Coast, Australia, November 25, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Local businessman Dudley Quinlivan has been congratulated and recognised by the Variety Club of Queensland for his outstanding long-term support.
Just one of many creative ways that Dudley Quinlivan has donated to the highly-active Queensland branch of the global Variety Club family is to encourage staff members of his various companies to donate a very small portion of their pay packet.
This coordinated effort has raised a substantial amount for the Variety Club. Dudley Quinlivan said it was an absolute pleasure to support the Queensland chapter knowing that any funds raised will hit their intended target.
The Variety Club began in the late 1920’s in Pittsburgh in the United States when performers banded together to help disadvantaged and handicapped children.
The organisation grew across the globe over the ensuing decades with the Queensland chapter being particularly active.
Queensland Variety Club will use the donated funds to purchase much needed equipment including transportation for handicapped children and other facilities.
Dudley Quinlivan said his staff are always there to support Variety Club.
“When we launched this initiative, every person in the company gave their whole-hearted support. Although it was just one dollar from everyone every week, it added up to a substantial monthly donation which the Variety Club deeply needs,” he said.
Mr Quinlivan added that if so many high profile performers can willingly and generously donate their time and effort, it is the least we can do to help.
