Wake County Economic Development Assistant Executive Director to Explain Role of Engineers in Economic Development
Raleigh, NC, December 05, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Ken Atkins, executive director for Wake County Economic Development (WCED) (www.raleigh-wake.org), has announced that Conni Tucker, assistant executive director, will speak to the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Carolina (ACEC/NC) on Wednesday, Dec. 10 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the ACEC/NC office located at 3724 National Drive, Suite 111. Tucker will discuss WCED’s current marketing efforts in specific industry sectors, such as advanced medical technologies, corporate headquarters, biotechnology/life sciences and serious games, as well as provide information on ways that the engineering community can become more involved in these initiatives. ACEC/NC is a member organization of ACEC, the largest national association of engineering firms engaged in the independent practice of consulting engineering. The North Carolina chapter has more than 210 firms, employing more than 8,000 professional engineers, technicians and scientists.
