Zinch Meets Zapps

Two college resource Web sites, CollegeZapps.com and Zinch.com, are joining forces to help students. Their integrated online community is rich with time-saving tools, chat forums and information, allowing high school students to make a smooth, less stressful transition to college.

Littleton, CO, December 07, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Hearing the words 'college,' 'future' or 'applications,' sends most high school seniors into various states of panic. Getting ready for college can be hectic, but it shouldn't have to be an overwhelming, negative experience. Two college resource Web sites, CollegeZapps.com and Zinch.com, are joining forces to help students. Their integrated online community is rich with time-saving tools, chat forums and information, allowing high school students to make a smooth, less stressful transition to college.

Mick Hagen, one the founders of Zinch.com, said, "We're pumped to be working with CollegeZapps. Working together will provide all of our college-bound users with an opportunity to further simplify their transformation from high school student to college freshman. Now students can find helpful information, network and make progress on their college applications."

The team at Zinch.com has built an online social network that allows students to build a profile that shows colleges what they are all about. This profile gives college admissions counselors an opportunity to see personal interests, academic interests, test scores, awards, leadership roles, community service involvement and anything else the student chooses to share. Members of Zinch can also see other students who have similar interests and join groups that display specific talents or interests.

Colleges and universities can also build profiles. These profiles are designed to showcase the school's assets. Each school can list its campus size and setting; average standardized test scores for incoming freshman; prominent alumni, campus social scene, Greek life, community involvement and extracurricular organizations; average costs per student (per year); and a breakdown of academic interests for the current student body.

At CollegeZapps, the top priority is making the tedious process of applying to college fast and easy. On the Web site students build their list of choice schools, then go through an interactive, online interview that collects all the necessary application data. Once the interview is complete, each of the student's applications is auto-populated with their information and the applications are filled out in the preferred format of the school.

Using an email login, students are able to save their progress and return at any time. Students can make changes to their list of schools, do any necessary updates or edits to their apps, review the documents and keep track of their progress.

Zapps and Zinch: together the two names make for a great sound effect, and together their integration tool will also benefit their users. Students can use the information from their Zinch profile to get started on their college applications. Zinch simply imports the information into the CollegeZapps application solution. The student then completes any missing fields and, simple as that, the student's applications are ready to view, edit, print and send.

Scot Talcott, VP of Marketing, said, "Our team at CollegeZapps is very excited to be working with Zinch. Both Web sites offer students great information and assistance for the transition to college. We're thrilled to have this chance to combine our technology and help high school students all across the nation prepare for their future."
