The Blessings Book, is a small hand sized journal, packed with heartwarming and inspirational quotations and photographs, as well as plenty of space to record your own blessings.
Blessings aren’t always in the packaging we expect; a kind word; a glint of sunshine hitting your window; an unexpected compliment; someone who takes your breath away; a wonderful experience you want to share; the considerate gesture of a stranger; the gift of love.
By capturing those uplifting moments in your own journal, you create your own good news paper. It is great to reflect on, especially when things get tough, just flick through your pages and remember something that made you smile.
“It’s almost a year since the concept of The Blessings Book was born. A dream woke me on the morning of New Years Eve 2007/2008.
I had gone to bed feeling agitated since, with our five children staying with us, I was needing to support them in various teenage and school issues, In the dim early morning light, I was woken, hearing clearly the words “count your blessings”. I remembered, when my brother and I were children, my mother cited that mantra endlessly and in those early hours the words couldn’t have been clearer.
By 530am I had produced 5 little “blessings books” for our children, and registered the site “theblessingsbook.com” recounted Lizzi Vandorpe, Author of The Blessings Book

During this year, Lizzi has built the web site www.theblessingsbook.com , had The Blessings Book published (it arrives this month), produced a ‘Year Of Blessings’-Calendar and has two other books in the pipeline.
Lizzi Vandorpe: “Daily, I work as a marketing consultant with my husband, doing strategic and tactical marketing planning for business, and yet the largest reward to me is knowing that something in the book, or a quote from the calendar can have a profound effect on someones thinking today.”
We appear to be heading into an uncertain future, and the opportunity to remind ourselves of what we Do have in our life, as opposed to what we don’t have, seems a more uplifting consideration.
In line with the concept of the Blessings Book about promoting or contributing to happiness and well-being, Lizzi has decided to donate a percentage of the profits of the sales of the book and the related products on the website to a local charity. For this purpose, she has created the concept “A Heart For . .”
Lizzi: “The objective is to have the public suggest and choose small concerns/charities to whom any money will be a blessing. Somewhere that our gift will make a difference.”
Every month, another charity will be nominated and supported and to increase the donated amount, all profits of the sale of the Rose Quartz Crystal Hearts are going to the charity.

‘The Blessings Book’ and ‘A Heart For...’ are initiatives from Lizzi Vandorpe. Throughout her childhood the mantra “count your blessings” was dominant. The parents and grandparents had strong beliefs in the power of positive thinking, and as such no mention of “error” “untruth” “illness” was ever made. Lizzi has encountered personal tragedy, depression, and despair, but in vengeance has been able to rise above those times with a determined belief in a positive way forward.
