Befact Technologies Announces Embedded Tiny PoE PD Module
Extracting power from PSE via Category 5 Ethernet cable, high power THPD and Normal power TPD Embedded Tiny PoE PD Modules support input voltage range of 36-55 and 39-55 Vdc, output power of 21W and 12W, and measure 75 x 22 x 15.5mm and 60 x 19.5 x 16mm, respectively. IEEE802.3af compliant modules feature isolation level of 1.5 kV, and thermal cutoff and short circuit protection. Applications include wireless access point, IP and PTZ cameras, media converter, WiMax, and VoIP phone.
Hsinchu, Taiwan, December 11, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Befact Technologies announces two series of Embedded Tiny PoE PD Module-High power (THPD) & Normal power (TPD). According to the output voltage, TPD&THPD series modules support three output voltage-3.3V, 5V and 12V. Embedded Tiny PoE PD Module extracts power from PSE via conventional Category 5 Ethernet cable. The application of Tiny PoE PD Module is Wireless Access Point, Access Point, IP camera, Media converter, PTZ camera, WiMax, VoIP Phone, Surveillance/Security System.
Below are the main features of THPD modules*:
1) Isolated PD module, isolation level 1.5KV
2) Backward compatible IEEE802.3af
3) Support wide input voltage range, 36Vdc to 55Vdc
4) High DC/DC converting efficiency, 91% at most;
The maximum output power can reach 21W(THPD-12)
5) Tiny size 75mm (L) x 22mm (W) x 15.5mm (H)
6) Thermal cut off & Short circuit protection
*The output power of THPD module depends on its loading. Also, the tiny size of THPD module increases PCB utilizing space.

4) High DC/DC converting efficiency, 89% at most;

**The output power of TPD module depends on its loading, too.High DC/DC converting efficiency lowers the heat accumulation and temperature of TPD & THPD modules.
Both High Power PoE PD module and Normal Power PoE PD module are isolated PD modules, and they can be put together with the output voltage of 48V PSE which is provided by any provider. Tiny PoE PD modules support PSE Alternative A and Alternative B connections, and also provide excellent short circuit protection.
