Despite the downturn in the overall U.S. retail sales, Internet research company comScore Inc. said Wednesday that overall online sales spiked 15 percent to $846 million on Cyber-Monday. Nielson Online, a service of the Nielson Company, reported a 10 percent increase in Web traffic to online shopping sites. PcPOOLS Marketing Director Ted Robinson had this to say, “While our product line is not a traditional fourth quarter product line, pcPOOLS continues to experience increased traffic and sales over 2007 levels. We see this as extremely encouraging development for pcPOOLS and we continue to hope that it will remain positive.” Traditional brick and mortar retailers continue to see sluggish Holiday sales despite the initial surge of sales on “Black Friday”. Robinson continued, “Online consumers are very sophisticated and are increasingly looking for the convenience of at home delivery with free shipping. Rather than drive from store to store price shopping, consumers are using the internet to research, price shop and purchase many of purchases.
