The Cove of Lake Geneva Has Become an Official Toys for Tots Drop-Off Location

The Cove of Lake Geneva joins the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program in delivering hope this Christmas Season.

Lake Geneva, WI, December 12, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Cove of Lake Geneva has become a drop-off location for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

Toys for Tots delivers a message of hope. Their goal is to motivate children, through the kindness of a new Christmas gift, to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders. The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help needy children throughout the United States experience the joys of Christmas and to unite all members of local communities in a common cause during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign.

Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is an IRS recognized 501(C)(3) not-for-profit public charity and is the fund raising, funding and support organization for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. From 1991-2005, the Foundation provided local toy collections with 64.5 million toys.

Local toy collection campaigns begin in October and last until December 22. Toy distribution normally takes place on December 23 and 24. Members of the community can drop new, unwrapped toys in a collection box positioned at The Cove of Lake Geneva. Coordinators pick up the toys and they are then sorted by age and gender. At Christmas, coordinators, with the assistance of local social welfare agencies, church groups, and other local community agencies, distribute the toys to the needy children of the community.

The ultimate success of the Toys for Tots Campaign depends on the support of the local community and the generosity of the people who donate new toys. Local business leaders, such as The Cove of Lake Geneva, play a key role in the program. They allow coordinators to place collection boxes in their place of business and help coordinators arrange media exposure for Toys for Tots in the local community.

The Cove of Lake Geneva will be accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys through December 21st. The toys will be picked up December 22nd. The Cove is offering 10% off coupons toward a stay in one of their luxury suites with the donation of a new toy.
