IBA Consultants Becher Named Presenter at Premier Workshop for Design and Construction Professionals
Las Vegas, NV, December 15, 2008 --(PR.com)-- RCI, Inc., an international association of professional consultants, architects, and engineers who specialize in the specification and design of roofing, waterproofing and exterior wall systems, has chosen IBA Consultant’s Dave Becher as a presenter for its Region IV Ninth Annual Roofing and Waterproofing Hawaii Winter Workshop.
Becher, who serves as senior vice president of West Coast Operation, will present “Common Curtain Wall Problems and How to Avoid Them” to attending RCI members at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort, January 19-20, 2009.
“After 24 years in the curtain wall business, I rarely encounter ‘new’ problems,” states Becher. “It is far more common to see the same mistakes repeated over and over again, often by the same people. Yes, the introduction of new codes, new materials, and new products produces a multitude of variations of the mistakes, but more often than not, it is just the same mistakes over and over again.
“My presentation will identify some of the most common curtain-wall-related problems and provide insight and advice on how to identify and avoid them.”
Becher, a graduate of Purdue University, has more than two decades of experience in the cladding of low-rise and high-rise commercial construction projects, including standard and custom curtain wall systems, storefronts and entrances. Additionally, he is a SBCCI Registered Building Inspector.
